Ricky Gervais Is Returning To The Golden Globes!

He was controversial, brutally honest and people said he went too far with his comments when he hosted the 2010 Golden Globes. There was talk of him being banned from ever hosting again but now they're eating their words because they've asked the British funnyman to return as host for a third year in a row.

Ricky Gervais has never been one to sugarcoat things, he tells it like it is and it's worked for him...and the ratings.

The decision came after the Hollywood Foreign Press Association met with a top official at NBC, which is airing the awards.
"While many welcome Gervais's return, not everyone is happy with the decision because last year his blunt one-liners targeting big-name celebrities caused anger and resentment in some quarters," says a blog post on the HFPA's own Web site.
Gervais was said to be a bit hesitant to return but "gradually warmed to the idea" after meeting with HFPA president Dr. Aida Takla-O'Reilly in Perris, says the site.

I personally think he's hilarious & love that he doesn't shy away from stating the obvious. If you were caught with a tranny hooker once then he'll call you out on it...nothing wrong with it, it's the past. I'm pretty happy about their decision to bring him back since the last couple of awards shows I've seen have sucked major ass.

James Franco Doesn't Care For Ricky Gervais' Oscar Help

E-Online did the favor of showing James Franco and Anne Hathaway the script that British comedian Ricky Gervais wrote for them for Oscar night. How did they react?

Well Anne Hathaway played it cool but James Franco had more childish reaction to it. The '27 Hours' actor states “He did his award show and he bombed, why is he trying to get in on ours?" while reading Ricky's script. James then added "Horrible, his lines weren’t good on the Golden Globes."

I think that was a low blow on James' part, although I may be picking sides because I have a soft spot for funnyman Ricky Gervais. In my opinion James Franco comes off as childish when he begins to make comments about how bad Ricky was at the Golden Globes.

Anne kids that all of the funny lines were written for James at one point, which I think she does to sort of loosen up the conversation. I'm still really excited to watch them both host the Oscars on Sunday but seeing James Franco in this light was pretty off putting.

Do you think James Franco over reacted to Ricky's joke of a script?
